Maybe early teens and up? I'm pretty mature when I want to be, and I watched this with my parents, so even though I'm only 11, I thought this movie was very good. I highly recommend it. Smiley face! The French backdrops are beautiful, performances are great, especially the actor who played Hemingway!
I really enjoyed it, a short, quirky treasure disguised as a comedy! Kid, 11 years old July 1, There really isn't any sensitive material in it, except for brief references to sex. This romantic comedy is aimed more at adults, as older kids and even some teens might find it to be lackluster. Most characters are figures from the '20's, and some of the satire is based on their personalities. Even I didn't catch all of the witty humor intertwined in this mild, sentimental film.
My dad, who enjoys reading old authors--some of which are displayed here--understood more of the jokes. Indeed, I have not read Hemingway or Fitzgerald. When I'm older, perhaps I'll try those authors and watch this film again.

It was about a guy who traveled back in time to be with iconic artists, writers, and actors. The only real problem was that there were a few references to 'making love' and some make-out scenes. Overall this was pretty much a clean movie. But some kids may not be mature enough to understand the content. It was worthy of it's Oscar nomination. That evening we saw this movie and she was excited and relieved by the message. We loved the footage of Paris and she recognized many of the artists and writers in the film.
For us is was a thrilling movie. It requires a certain sophistication when it comes to art and writers. My daughter is twelve and found this movie to be inspiring, reassuring and fun!! There is talk about infidelity, as well as suggestive material. Even though it's aimed at adults, I'd say that older kids can watch it, and that it mostly depends on maturity.
