Once you have a confirmed date for the connection you should let your electricity supplier know as soon as possible so they can arrange the metering on the same day as we complete our works. They are likely to need at least 10 working days notice to organise the metering so please allow plenty of time for this to ensure you can use your new electricity supply as soon as possible. If you already have an MPAN and need another MPAN without any works being necessary to your incoming supply cable eg if you are installing a total heating with total control THTC system and require an additional meter or are looking to install a microgeneration export meter then you will need to request this through your electricity supplier.

Great Britain is split up into 14 electricity distribution regions Northern Ireland is integrated with the Republic of Ireland's grid which works differently. Each region has a DNO company whose job it is to maintain the electricity infrastructure and organise the distribution of electricity in that area.
DNOs are responsible for the electricity network grid in your area and will know who supplies your property. By the way, the DNO should also be able to tell you what your MPAN number is which might save you a second call to the electricity supplier.
