The second box I opened had scared me as the display, even though it was in a big bubble squared type wrap, was face down on top of the stand base, and the cables in the box.
I decided to check this one out as the back at least had the original cling wrap on it, but the stand looked like someone tried to clean it with sand paper, it was horrible. I did decide to set this one up and try it as the display itself looked fairly new a couple minor scratches on the bezel, again expected, and I am getting a dual display stand that was also ordered. So I am not too worried about the stand. I seriously doubt they left the factory with different cables.
I gave this 2 eggs because 1 monitor for now is working well. Tried to contact Newegg about the gross first monitor, but 40 people in line and 3 hours later I am still waiting. Decided to write this review. I am not sure who refurbished these products but their standards for refurbishing is horrible. If it doesn't look almost new with some blemishes then it shouldn't be sold as refurbished it should be sold at a much greater discount and labeled as used!
Highly disappointed in Newegg and if it was Asus that refurbished them then extremely disappointed in them as well. Pros: I bought my brother this exact same monitor about 2 years ago for Christmas and he swears by it Time came and I built own custom built PC and he convinced me to buy this monitor and boy am I glad I did. Came with a DVI-D cable and power cord. This won't be a big deal for most people, but I have a large tower CoolerMaster HAF Advanced and it won't fit well under my desk, therefore I have to park my tower away from my desk and therefore I need at least 6ft, while the cable provided is only 4ft or so.
Overall Review: I'd highly recommend you save the money and buy the refurbished. This is my first time buying refurbished and it won't be the last time for me here on Newegg. The 1 ms and especially the Hz are felt as soon as Windows is opened on a simple mouse slide. In games this fluidity is a real plus and very pleasant. On the other hand, the visual quality is not so good I spent hours on the settings, downloading icc profiles and adjusting the screen to finally get a drinkable image.
The contrasts and black gradients are simply horrible no matter what you do My old samsung is finally much better in this respect If your PC is only used for playing CS or other fast multi fps, go for it, as long as you are ready to make concessions on the visual quality.
I personally sent it back and LDLC is irreproachable on this side, as for the delivery. Thanks to them! I'll be looking at an IPS panel with a 4ms response time because unless you're a pgm on CS, 2 or 3ms won't make any difference.
